As a Companion Care Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting our clients to live independently in their own homes, promoting their dignity, respect, and well-being.


About the Client:

Our clients are individuals who require support with daily living activities, and may also benefit from social interaction and companionship.

As a Companion Care Assistant, you will work closely with our clients to understand their needs, preferences, and goals, and develop personalized care plans that promote their independence and well-being.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Assisting clients with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting
  • Providing prompting with prescribed medication
  • Preparing and serving meals and snacks
  • Light housekeeping duties such as vacuuming, dusting, and laundry
  • Assisting clients with mobility and transfers

Requirements:
  • Minimum of 6 months experience in a care-giving role
  • QQI Level 5 in Healthcare or equivalent - must have 2 modules 'Care Skills' and 'Care of the Older Person'
  • Full driving license and access to a car is desirable, but not essential depending on location
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Flexibility to work various shifts including evenings and weekends
