About Spunout

As Ireland's youth information and support platform, spunout is committed to providing accessible and free services to young people (16-34). Our aim is to support them in being informed, empowered, and heard. We believe that if it matters to a young person, it matters to us. Through our platform and channels, we share factual information on mental health and wellbeing, offer immediate free services, and amplify the voices of young people. This helps them feel less alone and connects them to trusted services and resources nationwide.

Our Services

We provide a range of services that cater to the diverse needs of young people. These include sharing stories and experiences, connecting them to trusted services and resources, and amplifying their voices. Our goal is to empower young people to access opportunities and services that help them achieve their full potential.

The Role

As CEO, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of spunout, leading strategic fundraising growth, providing leadership and support to employees, and strengthening our impact. This is an exciting opportunity to be at the heart of an innovative and collaborative community where your leadership and fundraising expertise will expand opportunities and services for young people.

Key Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Provide visionary leadership, working with the Board to shape our strategic direction and implement the 2024-2027 plan.
  • Act as a key advisor, ambassador, and spokesperson, fostering collaboration between the Board, leadership team, volunteers, and stakeholders.
  • Develop and manage budgets, secure new sources of unrestricted funding, and lead fundraising efforts.
  • Oversee the effective delivery of programmes and services, ensuring alignment with organisational goals.
  • Lead a high-performing Executive Leadership Team by fostering an empathetic, confident, and curious workplace culture in line with our values.

Qualifications / Experience:
  • A third-level qualification in a relevant field (Business, Social Studies, Psychology, Marketing, Communications, etc.).
  • A minimum of 5 years of progressive leadership experience as CEO or in a senior leadership role.

Skills & Abilities:
  • Ability to engage authentically with young people and represent spunout as a thought leader in youth mental health.
  • Experience in leading high-functioning teams with empathy.
  • Financial management expertise with strong commercial acumen.
  • Proven track record of achieving financial targets.
