Job Description:

The primary function of the Health and Safety Engineer is to ensure a safe working environment for all personnel by implementing effective safety procedures, conducting regular audits, and providing training on health and safety matters.

This role involves developing, promoting, and maintaining a strong health and safety culture on site. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, be highly organized, and possess analytical and engineering skills.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop, implement, and maintain a comprehensive health and safety management system in accordance with ISO 45001 standards.
  • Conduct regular internal audits and inspections to identify potential hazards and recommend corrective actions.
  • Provide training on health and safety matters to employees, including manual handling and ergonomic assessments.
  • Assist in ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and legislation.
  • Support the development and maintenance of emergency response plans and conduct risk assessments related to equipment and task-based activities.
  • Monitor and analyze EHS data to identify trends and areas for improvement.

Requirements:

Primary degree in Engineering or Science specialising in Occupational Health and Safety or equivalent.

Minimum 3-5 years' experience working in an Occupational Health and Safety role within bulk pharmaceutical manufacturing, oil & gas, or chemicals industry environment.

Mature EHS leader with excellent interpersonal skills and ability to communicate across all levels of the organisation.

Strong analytical and engineering skills with attention to detail and ability to conduct independent internal audits and inspections.

Excellent report compiling and writing skills with a mindset of continuous improvement and accountability for EHS System implementation at site.
