Job Title: Head Golf Coach

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Head Golf Coach to lead our golf program.

About the Position:

The successful candidate will be responsible for organizing, coordinating and promoting a comprehensive sports program that meets the needs and interests of the district and community.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Instruct students and manage their behavior.
  • Utilize strong organizational, communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrate problem-solving skills.
  • Possess Coaching Principles Certificate (NFHS or ASEP).
  • Hold Sports First Aid Health & Safety for Coaches Certificate (ASEP or PREPARE).
  • Complete coaches' portion of NFHS Sportsmanship Course.
  • Complete NFHS Concussion course.
  • Complete NFHS Heat Acclimatization course.
  • Maintain active CPR certification with AED Training each year.
  • Complete NFHS Sudden Cardiac Arrest.
  • Exhibit general knowledge of coaching techniques and procedures.
  • Show knowledge of sport.
  • Display specific knowledge of assigned subjects.
  • Demonstrate general knowledge of curriculum and instruction.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Implement a variety of instructional techniques and media to meet student athletes' needs and improve abilities.
  • Manage and supervise athletic activities, contests and practice sessions to promote individual growth in athletic skills, teamwork and good sportsmanship.
  • Collaborate with school staff to plan and implement instructional goals and objectives ensuring overall educational development of student athletes.
  • Establish performance criteria for competition and evaluate student athletes' abilities initially and regularly.
  • Take necessary precautions to protect student athletes, equipment, materials and facilities.
  • Ensure compliance with all AHSAA rules.
  • Monitor and enforce student eligibility criteria for extracurricular participation.
  • Work with Athletic Director to schedule competitions and coordinate arrangements for athletic activities.
  • Develop and coordinate a continuing evaluation of coaching program and make changes based on findings.
  • Accompany and supervise student athletes during out-of-town trips.
  • Provide guidance on NCAA regulations regarding academic requirements for scholarships and recruiting practices.
Qualifications:
  • Minimum three to five years coaching experience.
  • Able to work in a dynamic environment and adapt to changing circumstances.
