About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer to provide design input on a range of projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical understanding of mechanical engineering and be able to produce high-quality designs, calculations, and specifications using appropriate software.

The successful candidate will also possess excellent communication and project management skills, with the ability to lead key elements of specific projects and informally mentor less experienced team members.

  • Produce detailed engineering designs, calculations, and specifications using relevant software tools.
  • Supervise the production of technical drawings and ensure accuracy in output.
  • Publish technical reports that meet client requirements.
  • Participate actively in project meetings and contribute to discussions.
  • Conduct site visits to monitor progress and address any issues that may arise.
  • Collaborate with other disciplines and specialisms as required.
  • Represent the company at client/project meetings as the lead engineer.
  • Maintain effective communication with external parties regarding information and technical queries.
  • Delegate tasks to technicians and/or graduate engineers as needed.
  • Monitor project performance against agreed plans and budgets.
  • Adhere to project management, operational, environmental, and health and safety procedures.

Requirements:

  • A degree in mechanical engineering or a related field at Bachelor's level or higher.
  • Previous experience working in an engineering consultancy environment.
  • Demonstrable technical expertise in mechanical engineering.
  • A proven ability to plan and prioritize work to meet deadlines.
  • A commitment to ongoing personal and professional development.
