Senior Geotechnical Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Principal Geotechnical Engineer to join our team in Dublin. As a key member of our geotechnical team, you will be responsible for leading the design and development of complex engineering projects.
Job Description:The successful candidate will have a strong background in geotechnical engineering with significant experience in designing and developing engineering projects. You will be responsible for:
- Leading the design and development of engineering projects from feasibility studies to detailed design
- Coordinating a team of engineers and technicians to deliver high-quality results
- Developing and implementing technical standards and procedures to ensure compliance with industry regulations
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams to identify and mitigate risks associated with engineering projects
You will work closely with our clients to understand their needs and develop innovative solutions to meet their requirements. You will also be responsible for ensuring that all engineering designs and developments are compliant with relevant laws and regulations.
Required Skills and Qualifications:To be successful in this role, you will need to have:
- A Master's degree or higher in Engineering Geology or Civil Engineering with a strong focus on geotechnical engineering
- Chartered status as a Chartered Geologist (CGeol) or Chartered Engineer (CEng)
- Significant experience in geotechnical design and development, including tunnels and underground excavations, earthworks, retaining structures, foundations, soil mechanics, and soil structure interaction
- Advanced numerical modeling skills using 3D Plaxis or similar software
- A working knowledge of geotechnical software, including Geo Studio suite (Slope/W, Seep/W)
- Good knowledge of statutory processes and technical standards, including Eurocodes
- Sound understanding of CDM Regulations, specifically the designer's requirements
