About the Job Description

This fixed-term contract is an excellent opportunity for a motivated and caring individual to make a positive impact on student lives. As a Student Wellbeing Advisor, you will serve as a vital point of contact for students requiring support.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Offer confidential support to students facing various personal challenges, including mental health issues, financial difficulties, and social problems.
  2. Manage a caseload of students, conducting regular pastoral sessions and maintaining accurate records of student interactions.
  3. Assess and triage student cases, escalating concerns when necessary, and collaborate closely with academic and campus teams.
  4. Proactively inform students about available support services within the university and contribute to the delivery of wellbeing interventions and workshops.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • A good standard of general education and understanding of Student Wellbeing services in higher education.
  • Experience working with young adults and knowledge of common challenges within this demographic.
  • An empathetic and inclusive approach, with strong administration and communication skills.
  • The ability to work both independently and collaboratively, exhibiting resilience in managing a demanding workload.
