Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced professional to lead our technical transfer team in Sligo, expanding our biotech manufacturing facility. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for managing the team's performance and developing their skills.
The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in new product introductions and product support in the biotechnology and/or pharmaceutical industry. They should possess knowledge of the processes and equipment necessary for the manufacture of pharmaceuticals (oral solid dose), parenterals, and/or biologicals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and develop the technical transfer team to ensure smooth execution of projects.
- Provide leadership and expertise in investigation and resolution of process deviations, root cause analysis, CAPAs, and process improvements.
- Oversee review and approval of change controls.
- Develop and implement training programs for production teams.
- Collaborate with QA to generate and close annual product reviews.
- Implement continuous improvement tools for incremental change.
- Support technology transfer, including examination of production methods prior to transfer to production.
Requirements:
- Minimum 5 years' experience in the biotechnology and/or pharmaceutical industry, with experience of new product introductions and product support.
- Knowledge of the processes and equipment necessary for the manufacture of pharmaceuticals (oral solid dose), parenterals, and/or biologicals.
- Experience in authoring, review, and execution of validation studies and reports is essential.
- Experience with vaccines would be beneficial, particularly in product development and stewardship.
- Ability to prioritize workload and coach/mentor a team.
- Demonstrated ability in leading root cause analysis and effective investigation practices.
