Reinsurance Accountant Position

This is a challenging role within our Finance team, focusing on technical reinsurance accounting. We are seeking an experienced professional with a strong understanding of insurance/reinsurance principles and practices.

About the Role

  • Manage and review cedant accounts, reconciliations, and settlements to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Assist in the month-end close process, providing timely and accurate financial reports for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Support the preparation of management reports, highlighting key performance indicators and areas for improvement.
  • Provide technical input to strengthen financial controls, ensuring data integrity and reliability.
  • Collaborate with underwriting and actuarial teams to meet cross-functional reporting needs.
  • Contribute to audit requirements and regulatory submissions.
  • Support budgeting and forecasting processes, aligning financial plans with business objectives.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or equivalent) with at least 2 years' PQE in insurance/reinsurance, or equivalent technical experience.
  • Strong technical knowledge of reinsurance accounting principles and practices.
  • High attention to detail with excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
