Key Role: Fire Commissioning Systems Engineer

 

Job Description

 

The successful candidate will be responsible for installing, commissioning, servicing, and maintaining fire detection, alarm, and suppression systems, emergency lighting, and fire extinguishers. This includes:

  • Commissioning fire detection, alarm, and suppression systems to customer specifications
  • Servicing and maintaining fire detection, fire suppression systems, emergency lighting, and fire extinguishers in accordance with agreed service and maintenance contracts

 

Additional responsibilities include:

  • Providing regular reports on activities to enable strategic and operational direction for the fire systems team
  • Correctly using PDA and closing jobs with required information to enable prompt invoicing to customers and job certification
  • Ensuring all company property, vehicles, stock, test equipment, and tools are accounted for and kept in good working order
  • Supporting sales teams by specifying customer needs through expert advice during on-site inspections
  • Responding to customer queries and resolving issues promptly and courteously
  • Responding to emergency activations and other attendances advised through the service desk and Pageboy services
  • Attending product training when necessary and attaining comprehensive knowledge of the company's product range

 

Required Skills and Qualifications

 

The ideal candidate will have:

  • A comprehensive knowledge of standards relevant to the fire industry
  • Experience in standard and complex fire suppression systems
  • The ability to manage large projects from design through to completion
  • Proven experience of commissioning large projects with complex strategies
  • Extensive knowledge of conventional and analogue fire alarm systems
  • Experience working with major fire alarm brands including air sampling systems
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • A full clean driving license is essential
  • An electrical background is a distinct advantage
