Job Title: Postdoctoral Researcher in Geography
Job Description:Maynooth University seeks a highly skilled postdoctoral researcher to join our team on the EXACT project. This exciting opportunity involves advancing our understanding of climate change impacts on extremes in Ireland.
Key Responsibilities:- Collaborate with the PI and collaborators to deliver the project.
- Develop a catalogue of hydrometeorological extremes for Ireland.
- Undertake detection and attribution assessments of change in observed timeseries of extremes.
- Examine causal chains linking meteorological and hydrological extremes and their impacts.
- Develop novel storyline based methods to enhance knowledge and communication for adapting to compound extreme events.
The successful candidate will have a PhD in a relevant field, strong research skills, and excellent communication abilities. Experience in working with observational data and climate modeling is desirable.
Benefits:Salary scale €46,305 per annum (1 point, with increment). Appointments will be made in accordance with public sector pay provisions.
