Special Care Worker Opportunity

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Special Care Worker to join our team in providing therapeutic care to young people in need of a secure environment. This role requires a Level 7 qualification in Social Care or a related discipline, experience working with children, and CORU registration.

The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, be able to work effectively in a team environment, and possess a strong understanding of child protection, safeguarding, and trauma-informed care.

This is a permanent, full-time position with a competitive salary scale of €37,055 - €68,169 per annum, plus additional allowances and benefits such as paid travel expenses, paid training, and access to the Employee Assistance Programme.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide short-term, therapeutic, and stabilizing care to young people in need of a secure environment.
  • Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to ensure the best possible outcomes for service users.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of individualized care plans.
  • Engage with families and carers to provide support and promote positive relationships.

Requirements:

  • Level 7 qualification in Social Care or a related discipline.
  • Experience working with children, preferably in a residential care setting.
  • CORU registration or willingness to register.
  • Knowledge of child protection, safeguarding, and trauma-informed care principles.
