Quality Assurance Specialist

This role involves overseeing and managing all aspects of quality assurance and control, ensuring compliance with relevant international standards throughout the project lifecycle.

The Quality Assurance Specialist will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining a comprehensive Quality Management System (QMS) that meets project specifications and regulatory requirements.

  • Develop and maintain the Project Quality Plan (PQP) and ensure its implementation across all project phases.
  • Oversee and manage all aspects of quality assurance and control, including internal and external audits, inspections, and quality reporting.
  • Ensure compliance with ISO 9001, CENELEC standards (EN 50126, EN 50128, EN 50129), and Irish quality and safety requirements.
  • Monitor contractor and supplier quality performance and ensure all works and deliverables meet specified requirements.
  • Lead non-conformance reporting (NCR) processes, root cause analysis, and corrective/preventive actions (CAPA).
Key Responsibilities
  1. Develop and implement QMS policies and procedures
  2. Conduct regular quality audits and inspections
  3. Manage quality-related documentation and records
  4. Provide training and support to project teams and subcontractors
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Minimum 10 years of experience in quality management within infrastructure, rail, or safety-critical system projects.
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality, or a related technical field.
  • Strong knowledge of ISO 9001, and relevant rail standards including CENELEC (EN 5012x series).
  • Proven experience developing and implementing QMS on large-scale rail or infrastructure projects.
  • Experience managing audits, non-conformance processes, and supplier quality.
  • Familiarity with safety-related systems and integration of quality with RAMS (Reliability, Availability, Maintainability, Safety).
