Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Planning Coordinator to join our team. The successful candidate will have extensive knowledge of the planning system, legislation, and policy framework in Ireland.

The role involves conducting desktop studies, site visits, and preparing planning reports and applications. You will provide expert input to Environmental Impact Assessments (EIAs) and planning appeals, representing the company in client meetings, planning consultations, and stakeholder engagements.

You will identify relevant environmental, social, and economic policies and legislation, using them to scope and develop consenting routes for major development projects. Experience of bidding/tendering for internal and external opportunities and strong commercial awareness are essential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct desktop studies, site visits, and prepare planning reports and applications
  • Provide expert input to EIAs and planning appeals
  • Represent the company in client meetings, planning consultations, and stakeholder engagements
  • Identify relevant environmental, social, and economic policies and legislation
  • Manage planning risk through solution-oriented advice
  • Prepare, review, and validate planning applications, ensuring compliance with regulations
  • Liaise with planning authorities and participate in pre-application consultations
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams of engineers and scientists to develop sustainable and practical solutions

Requirements:

  • Minimum 8+ years' experience in a Planning Coordinator role
  • Degree accredited by the Irish Planning Institute (IPI) or Royal Town Planning Institute (RTPI)
  • Experience leading planning projects and engaging with planning authorities is essential
  • In-depth knowledge of the Irish planning system, legislation, and policy framework
  • Strong track record of preparing and managing planning applications and strategic reports
  • Excellent report writing, verbal, and presentation skills
  • Self-motivated, organized, and capable of working independently and as part of a team
  • Capacity to respond to tight timelines and reporting needs
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Full, clean driving license
