We are seeking a seasoned professional to lead our trade compliance operations. This role requires strategic thinking, exceptional leadership skills, and a deep understanding of customs regulations.

About the Role

The Trade Compliance Lead will be responsible for developing and implementing processes to ensure seamless global trade operations. Key responsibilities include:

  • Serving as primary client contact, providing expert advice on customs compliance, classification, valuation, and documentation requirements.
  • Ensuring compliance with all relevant customs regulations, tariffs, and trade agreements.
  • Developing efficient processes to manage shipments against timelines and expectations.
  • Monitoring changes in customs regulations and industry trends, updating internal policies and procedures accordingly.
  • Conducting regular audits and reviews to identify areas for improvement and ensure adherence to compliance standards.

To excel in this role, you will need:

  • A university degree in a business-related discipline, ideally in law, commerce, engineering, or economics.
  • In-depth knowledge of export/import laws and regulations, with experience across global geographies.
  • 5+ years of experience in customs/global trade (export, customs, and/or trade compliance); experience in technology, manufacturing, and/or BPO is preferred.
  • Operational experience in export/import operations and risk management.
  • People management experience across different geographies.
  • Strong project management skills and technological savviness.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to operate and communicate effectively at all business levels.
