Job Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled Instrumentation and Controls Specialist to join our project engineering team in Tipperary, Ireland.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for delivering comprehensive instrumentation and control solutions across various sectors. This role offers an excellent opportunity to work on-site with our site-based managed service teams, providing cost-effective and efficient project delivery to clients.

This position involves:

  • Developing and implementing feasibility studies, outline designs, and detailed instrumentation and control plans
  • Creating user requirements specifications and system architecture designs
  • Designing fieldbus systems and producing scope/specification documents
  • Evaluating functional design specifications and instrumentation and control cable schedules
  • Routing and containing cabling designs

To succeed in this role, you must have:

  • Proven experience in control and instrumentation specification and design
  • Familiarity with fieldbus technology (Profibus DP and Modbus RTU)
  • Ability to review vendor submittals and manage vendors/sub-contractors
  • Design expertise for ATEX classified areas and S88 knowledge
  • Familiarity with functional safety specification and design

Desirable skills include:

  • Some experience in programming/configuration of PLC/DCS systems
  • Good practical knowledge and design experience of LV cabling design for industrial applications

You should hold a bachelor's degree in Instrumentation Engineering or a related field and possess proficiency in a Windows-based environment. Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills are essential.
