Geotechnical Design Engineer
We are seeking a skilled professional to lead geotechnical designs for data centers, substations, and grid connections in the Europe, Middle East & Africa (EMEA) geography.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage geotechnical design packages for data center campuses, HV/MV substation and grid connection projects;
- Create, review, and release RFPs for external design consultants;
- Work with multidisciplinary teams on developing site layouts during data center masterplanning design;
- Manage external CSA design consultants through the design and construction administration phases of projects;
- Evaluate geotechnical reports and civil engineering design options;
- Review structural engineering foundation designs;
- Coordinate with internal and external MEP engineers, quantity surveyors, construction managers, technical program managers;
- Lead initiatives aimed at improving cost, quality, schedule, and consistency;
- Develop and maintain geotechnical and civil engineering aspects of Basis of Design, prototype design, and template specifications for data center, HV/MV substation, and grid connection projects.
About the Role:
This is an exciting opportunity to join our team as a geotechnical design engineer. As part of our AWS Infrastructure Services team, you will be responsible for designing and implementing geotechnical solutions for our global infrastructure. You will work closely with multidisciplinary teams to develop site layouts, manage external design consultants, and evaluate geotechnical reports.
