Localization Specialist for Japanese Games

This is an exciting opportunity to join a team focused on community and in-game content for a leading social games publisher. As a Localization Specialist, you will be responsible for translating and transcreating player support, community, and in-game content from English into Japanese.

About the Role

The successful candidate will have excellent language skills, creativity, and a passion for games. You will work closely with linguists in other languages to ensure the best possible quality of translations.

  • Translate/trans create in-game, player support, and community content from English to Japanese to a high-quality standard
  • Perform Quality Assurance tasks in a variety of published content (games, websites, etc.)
  • Be responsible for all linguistic aspects of the translations you are assigned to ensure the best possible quality is achieved
  • Suggest process improvements that will deliver on the goal of optimal translation quality
Requirements

We are looking for a native-level Japanese speaker with a passion for the games industry. The ideal candidate will have experience in translation, copywriting, or linguistics, and excellent verbal and written linguistic skills both in Japanese and English.

  • Native-level Japanese speaker
  • Possession of educational qualification in linguistics
  • Experience in translation, copywriting, or linguistics
  • Excellent verbal and written linguistic skills both in Japanese and English
  • Good PC knowledge, including knowledge of MS Office products is essential
