Electrical Utilities Engineer Role

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Utilities Engineer to join our team on a 12-month contract. This role involves system commissioning, project management, and ensuring the smooth operation of electrical infrastructure.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Conduct site visits with project teams and create punch-lists as required.
  • Manage punch-lists and oversee the close-out of raised issues to ensure timely completion.
  • Review documentation for various systems prior to turnover to guarantee their integrity.
  • Liaise with project stakeholders as needed to facilitate effective communication.
  • Assist with commissioning and supporting system integration to achieve seamless performance.
  • Develop project plans and qualification strategies aligned with site requirements to maximize efficiency.
  • Monitor and report on project progress, communicate shortfalls, and identify solutions to overcome them.
Ideal Background:
  1. Evidence of electrical engineering education or degree is highly desirable.
  2. Electrical trade qualifications (QQI Level 6) such as Advanced Craft Electrical Cert or Electrical & Instrumentation Cert are essential.
  3. A minimum of 5 years of experience in engineering or a related field with project management expertise is necessary.
  4. Knowledge of site electrical infrastructure, substations, electrical distribution, PLCs, electrical drawings, P&IDs, etc., is crucial for success.
  5. Proficiency in IT applications including MS Word, Excel, etc., is also required.
Requirements:
  • An electrical engineering degree is desired but not essential.
  • Electrical trade qualifications (QQI Level 6) are mandatory.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in engineering or a related field is required.
  • Project management experience is essential for this role.
  • Knowledge of site electrical infrastructure and related systems is vital.
  • Familiarity with IT applications is necessary for effective communication.
