Senior Academic Position

Job Title: Lecturer/Senior Lecturer, School of Pharmacy and Biomolecular Sciences

Location: RCSI Dublin and Soochow University, China (12+ weeks per academic year)

School: School of Pharmacy and Biomolecular Sciences (PBS)

We are seeking applications for a number of full-time, permanent roles who will be employed by the School in RCSI and will be responsible for planning and delivering RSCI-led teaching activities in the International College of Pharmaceutical Innovation, in China.

The successful candidates will play a pivotal role in delivering our cutting-edge curriculum. They will inspire and engage students through innovative teaching methods and be instrumental in advancing research that addresses the evolving challenges in healthcare.

The structure of the roles will provide ample opportunity to develop and grow your own research activities that will be largely based in Ireland. However, in recognition of Soochow University's leading reputation in research, you will be encouraged to actively engage with colleagues in Soochow to identify how productive collaborations may be generated and increase your international research portfolio.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver and assess pharmacy and pharmaceutical science courses ensuring a transformative educational experience for our students.
  • Establish and grow a research program that not only thrives in Ireland but also taps into the wealth of knowledge and innovation at Soochow University.
  • Contribute to the development of forward-thinking teaching materials and assessment methods that set new standards in pharmacy education.
  • Be a key player in the quality assurance and accreditation processes, ensuring that our programs maintain their world-class status.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in pharmacy or a related field and will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills. They will be passionate about delivering high-quality education and conducting impactful research.

Requirements:
  • A PhD degree or equivalent in a relevant field.
  • Strong teaching interest and skill set as evidenced by experience of undergraduate teaching and assessment in Pharmacy, pharmaceutical sciences or the biological sciences.
  • A competitive research record, as evidenced by peer-reviewed publications in journals of high quality/impact.
  • An enthusiasm for your specialist teaching area and the ability to engage your students successfully transfer this passion and learning.
  • An ability to continuously adapt and innovate teaching methods to ensure students' full understanding.
