EHS Engineer Job Description

We are seeking a seasoned Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) professional to lead our team in implementing high EHS standards and fostering a proactive EHS culture.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Interpret regulatory changes and provide guidance on compliance with Health and Safety legislation, including IE Licensing and ISO45001/ISO14001 Standards.
  • Provide EHS support to site operations to ensure adherence to Lower Tier SEVESO and ATEX requirements.
  • Conduct EHS assessments and approvals of process and equipment changes.
  • Maintain relationships with the EHS team, Operational Area Managers, and Functional Managers to develop and implement EHS strategies.
  • Collaborate with Regulatory Authorities, external stakeholders, and the local management team.
  • Foster opportunities for continuous EHS improvement.
  • Lead audits and inspections, compile EHS metrics and KPIs data, and trending for Corporate EHS and site Management.
  • Maintain EHS systems and lead/participate in Root Cause Investigations as required.

Candidates' Profile:

  • Higher Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety or equivalent qualification.
  • Minimum 3 years post-qualification experience required.
  • Extensive experience within a regulated manufacturing environment, Life Science, or Pharmaceutical sector desirable.
  • Strong experience in chemical management system and machine safety, and/or regulatory/IE Licensing desirable.
  • Leadership and organizational skills with ability to influence and motivate colleagues to achieve high performance.
  • Highly motivated with passion for EHS to continuously improve EHS performance by implementing new and innovative ideas.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Proficient user of Microsoft packages.
