Meta seeks an experienced team player to serve as a key advisor on its Data Protection team, focusing on Generative AI product counselling. This role presents a great opportunity for candidates eager to tackle complex legal challenges in this cutting-edge area of law. You will join an international legal team and work on data protection compliance solutions in a dynamic environment.

Data Protection Team Responsibilities:
  • Analyse products, policies, and initiatives to provide practical legal risk mitigation strategies for AI products across multiple jurisdictions in the EU and UK.
  • Monitor and respond to developments in data protection, AI, and relevant consumer laws (e.g., new laws and regulations, important judgements).
  • Collaborate with the wider legal team on EU regulatory and litigation matters, including liaising with regulators.
  • Provide full-service support to DPO, policy, legal, product, engineering, and other business teams with legal advice on data protection laws and regulations.
Requirements:
  • A law degree or equivalent certificate to practice law and be licensed and authorized to practice law for Meta in their assigned work location.
  • Solicitor or barrister qualified to practice law in at least one European jurisdiction or the UK.
  • Minimum 4+ years of relevant legal experience, preferably at a law firm or in-house experience, ideally at an internet or technology company.
  • In-depth knowledge of legal issues related to online social media platforms and AI technologies, including data protection law and GDPR.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience partnering with cross-functional teams in a highly matrixed organization.
  • Effective communication and presentation skills with proven success in distilling complex concepts and translating insights into actionable recommendations.
