Job Title: Financial Support Specialist

We are seeking a skilled Financial Support Specialist to join our team. This role involves providing financial support and assistance in various areas.

  • Accounts Payable (Creditors Ledger)
    • Process high-volume supplier invoices, ensuring accurate coding and authorisation.
    • Match invoices to purchase orders and delivery dockets.
    • Prepare and process weekly/monthly payment runs via EFT.
    • Reconcile supplier statements and resolve any discrepancies.
    • Act as the primary point of contact for all supplier account queries.
  • Accounts Receivable (Debtors Ledger)
    • Generate customer invoices and issue monthly statements.
    • Allocate incoming payments to customer accounts accurately.
    • Manage the credit control process, including proactive communication with customers regarding overdue payments.
    • Maintain the debtors' ledger and resolve customer account queries in a timely manner.
  • General Accounts & Administration
    • Assist with daily and monthly bank reconciliations.
    • Support the Financial Controller with month-end procedures and reporting.
    • Contribute to the preparation of VAT returns.
    • Process staff expense claims.
    • Maintain organised and accurate financial records and filing systems.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 2 years of proven experience in an accounts role (Financial Assistant/Technician, Accounts Administrator, Bookkeeper).
  • Accounting Technician (IATI) qualification or part-qualification would be advantageous.
  • Proficient in the use of accounting systems.
  • Strong computer skills, particularly in Microsoft Excel.
