GIS & CAD Technician

We are seeking a highly motivated GIS and CAD technician to join our dynamic Environment and Planning team. This role is ideal for someone with strong GIS skills who thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.

  • Perform core GIS tasks including data preparation, collection, analysis, and output generation.
  • Create maps and conduct spatial analysis using ArcGIS Desktop/Pro software and data collection equipment.
  • Support planning, project due diligence, feasibility studies, and site selection appraisals.
  • Assist in the preparation of technical reports and project documentation.
  • Maintain and enhance GIS databases, ensuring accuracy and consistency.
  • Liaise with data vendors and ensure high-quality data management.
  • Contribute to the development and continuous improvement of our GIS platform.
Required Skills and Qualifications

This role requires:

  • A minimum of 2 years' industry experience in a GIS-focused role.
  • A third-level qualification in Geographic Information Systems or a related discipline.
  • Proficiency in ArcGIS Desktop/Pro and extensions such as Spatial Analyst, Insights, and Dashboards.
  • An excellent understanding of cartography, georeferencing, and coordinate systems.
  • Experience in the installation, configuration, and maintenance of GIS software.
  • Knowledge of CAD software (AutoCAD or similar) is desirable.
