Senior Financial Manager

An international business with a strong operational presence across various markets is seeking an experienced Senior Financial Manager to lead the day-to-day activities of its finance function. Reporting to the Finance Director and working closely with senior stakeholders, this key leadership role will be responsible for financial control, reporting, and team management in a fast-paced environment.
This is a critical position requiring strong technical accounting and financial reporting expertise, along with excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills. The successful candidate will lead a large finance team, partner with senior business leaders, and drive continuous improvement across systems and processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the monthly close process, ensuring timely and accurate reporting
- Review and consolidate balance sheet reconciliations and P&L performance
- Work collaboratively with finance leadership on strategic projects and system upgrades
- Analyse financial results, identify trends, and present insights to senior leadership
- Support annual budgeting, forecasting, and working capital initiatives
- Lead and develop a team of finance professionals across AP, AR, and GL functions
- Ensure compliance with all statutory, tax, and audit requirements
- Implement and maintain robust financial controls and governance frameworks
- Drive improvements in systems, reporting tools, and finance processes
- Act as a key point of contact for external auditors and Group Finance
Requirements:
- Fully qualified accountant (ACA preferred) with 5+ years PQE
- Minimum of 3 years' experience in a Senior Financial Manager or similar senior finance role
- Proven experience managing and mentoring a large finance team
- Strong technical accounting and financial reporting expertise
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills
- Advanced Excel capabilities and strong systems knowledge
- Solid understanding of relevant tax regulations
- Comfortable operating in a deadline-driven, change-oriented environment
Ideal Candidate:
The ideal candidate is a commercially astute finance leader with a hands-on approach and a strong control mindset. They are comfortable managing competing priorities, developing high-performing teams, and influencing senior stakeholders across the organisation. A background in large or complex organisations will be beneficial.
