Operations Control Duty Manager Job Overview

The Operations Control Duty Manager plays a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our aircraft. This includes supervising the administrative arrangements involved in flight management, including crew control and tactical management of ground operations.

Responsibilities:

  • Support, brief, and assist commanders in dispatching aircraft.
  • Coordinate day-to-day aircraft allocation and scheduling with relevant parties.
  • Ensure optimum utilization and resource management to maintain punctuality cost-effectively.
  • Supervise the Operations Control Centre on shift, covering all aspects of Operations Control.
  • Perform management tasks assigned by the Operations Director as required.
  • Review operations and crewing issues, making informed decisions regarding schedule disruptions, on-time performance, and customer care.
  • Liaise with other departments and senior management to provide and gather up-to-date information on daily operations.
  • Ensure Ops Control procedures comply with mandatory regulations.
  • Monitor entry and accuracy of operational data input into the operations management system.
  • Produce daily/weekly/monthly reports as directed by the Director of Operations.
  • Manage disruptions to the flight schedule in conjunction with handling agents and other departments.
  • Coordinate flight planning issues with local ATC centres and Eurocontrol.
  • Coordinate with ground handling regarding radio calls from aircraft passing on estimated arrival times and parking stand allocations.
  • Enter accurate flight tracking data into the Ops system.
  • Liaise with Ops Crew Control regarding delays, cancellations, and aircraft changes affecting pilots and cabin crew.
  • Ensure correct crew complement for all flights and timely roster changes, amendments, and notifications.
  • Maintain all records, flight documents, and data as required.
