About This Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Garden Centre Team Leader to join our dynamic team in Limerick.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who thrives in fast-paced retail and has a proven track record in garden centre management.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead by Example: Drive a safety-first culture on site, ensuring the well-being of colleagues and customers alike.
  • Customer Experience: Deliver exceptional customer service, meeting the high standards set by Co-Op SuperStores.
  • Sales and Operations: Optimize sales performance, improve store operations, and exceed targets through effective planning and execution.
  • Section Standards: Maintain consistently high section standards, adhering to operational requirements, including merchandising and floor layouts.
  • Management Support: Assist with management duties as required, including keyholder responsibilities.
  • Team Leadership: Proactively support the Branch Manager in achieving agreed objectives, fostering a motivated and engaged sales team.
  • Stock Management: Manage weekly deliveries, ensuring best practice in stock control, ordering, and availability of category products.
  • Compliance: Ensure adherence to company policies, procedures, legislation, and audit standards.
  • Business Administration: Assist with business administration tasks, including cash management, stock control, and system maintenance.
Requirements:
  • A relevant horticulturist qualification is essential, preferably with people management experience.
  • A proven track record in retailing, with strong product knowledge, is a prerequisite for this role.
  • A keen understanding of our business, with strong commercial awareness.
  • A proven ability to deliver exceptional customer experiences, with an understanding of how this drives sales and affects the bottom line.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Strong organizational, planning, and time management skills, with excellent attention to detail.
  • Able to demonstrate initiative, with a solutions-oriented approach.
  • Self-motivated and flexible, with a willingness to adapt to changing circumstances.
  • Proficient IT skills, including MS Office, POS, email, etc.
