Are you passionate about insurance and eager to take on a challenging role?

About the Role

We are seeking an Underwriter to join our team, who will be responsible for assessing and analyzing new business submissions in accordance with our underwriting standards and risk appetite.

You will work closely with our broker partners to negotiate terms and conditions, while ensuring that we meet our agreed strategy and target risk appetite.

Your key responsibilities will include managing and prioritizing new business pipeline and work queues, as well as engaging with our sales and distribution teams to generate and secure new business opportunities.

You will also build relationships with our customers and brokers, handling queries and providing advice to support the development of their accounts.

In addition, you will implement technical standards and controls, maintain underwriting records, and identify training opportunities for yourself and others.

We are looking for someone who is flexible, proactive, and able to work independently, with excellent communication and negotiation skills.

Requirements
  • 3+ years of industry experience required.
  • Holds or is working towards relevant professional qualifications (e.g. CIP, MDI, ACII) required.
  • Excellent technical insurance knowledge, including commercial insurance required.
  • Excellent numerical and analytical skills required.
  • Able to work within a team environment, focused on achieving both individual and team goals.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills required.
