Job Opportunity: Water/Wastewater Engineer

We are seeking a highly experienced Civil Resident Engineer to join our nationwide water/wastewater project in Ireland.

This role involves providing supervision and management on a program of work to deliver new and upgrade water/wastewater network improvements across various regions.

The ideal candidate should have previous experience in the design or construction of water/wastewater projects, including:

  • WWTW (Wastewater Treatment Works)
  • WWTP (Wastewater Treatment Plant)
  • WTP (Water Treatment Plant)
  • watermain upgrades
  • rehabilitation
  • leakage repair etc.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with regional contractors to ensure compliance with contracts and legislation
  • Liaise with local authorities to facilitate project delivery
  • Perform HSQE audits and manage related issues
  • Process work orders, update trackers, review and approve as-laid drawings
  • Work with IW Design Engineers to provide clarity and support project delivery
  • Deal with complaints, provide feedback to regional leads and IW
  • Attend and manage meetings with regional contractors and IW
  • Keep accurate records and maintain snag lists for sign-off

Requirements:

  • At least 4-10 years of postgraduate experience in on-site supervision and site engineering of civil engineering works, including water or wastewater projects
  • A degree in a related field such as civil engineering
  • Strong writing and reporting skills, with ability to maintain accurate works records
  • Comprehensive knowledge and experience of health and safety procedures and regulations
  • A current and valid SafePass card is essential; confined spaces training would be desirable

This role requires excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills, both written and verbal. Flexibility regarding travel is also necessary due to the nature of the position.
