Electrical Engineering Officer

This role involves technical and leadership responsibilities within the Naval Service.

As an Electrical Engineering Officer, you will play a critical part in managing complex onboard systems across the fleet.

  • The key areas of responsibility include power generation, navigation, communications, weapons systems, environmental control, and IT infrastructure design, installation, maintenance, and upgrade.
  • During sea postings, you will work closely with the ship's engineering department, overseeing electrical, electronic, and control systems that govern manoeuvrability, defence, and intelligence functions.
  • With comprehensive training at the Naval College, you will be equipped to handle both engineering and military responsibilities.
  • Electrical Engineering Officers may serve on ships, ashore, or in overseas assignments.
  • After a sea rotation, you will transition to a shore-based role at the Naval Dockyard, Naval College (NMCI), or Naval Base, focusing on project planning, equipment procurement, and maintenance operations.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Design, installation, maintenance, and upgrade of complex onboard systems
  • Manage electrical, electronic, and control systems governing manoeuvrability, defence, and intelligence functions
  • Oversee project planning, equipment procurement, and maintenance operations
