About the Opportunity

We are currently recruiting for a highly skilled Facilities and Utilities Manager to join our team in Athlone. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to join a leading multinational organization in the pharmaceutical industry.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the operation and maintenance of various utility systems, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and implementing maintenance programs to optimize system performance.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Oversee the operation and maintenance of boilers, chillers, HVAC systems, air handling units (AHUs), compressed air, steam systems, cooling towers, and water treatment systems.
  2. Ensure continuous and efficient operation of black utilities to support manufacturing and facility needs.
  3. Perform troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and corrective actions for utility-related issues.
  4. Implement and manage preventative and predictive maintenance programs to maximize system reliability and efficiency.
  5. Ensure all black utilities comply with local environmental, health, and safety (EHS) regulations.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or Chemical Engineering or a related field.
  • Experience in black utilities engineering, facility maintenance, or industrial utilities within a pharmaceutical, biotech, or manufacturing environment.
  • Strong knowledge of boilers, chillers, steam systems, HVAC, compressed air, and water treatment.
  • Understanding of BMS (Building Management Systems), CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems), and energy management principles.
