Job Role:

The Senior Data Analyst will be responsible for leading data analysis, insights, and visualisations to support departmental decision-making.

">

This role requires strong collaboration with the Data Office team to ensure seamless integration and alignment with work practices.

Main Responsibilities:

  • ">
  • Work closely with business leads to understand project requirements and distill them down to actionable data insights.">
  • Perform data profiling, preparation of results, and outputs of profiling analysis including visualisations.">
  • Execute data validation, cross-matching between datasets, outlier identification, and general data quality assessment activities.">
  • Develop modelling scenarios to apply business-defined rules to datasets and generate model outputs – 'what if' type analysis.">
  • Identify, analyse, interpret, and communicate trends or patterns in complex datasets to both technical and non-technical audiences.">
  • Extract key messages from single/multiple data sets and present them in an appropriate format to the relevant audience.">
  • Develop accompanying data documentation which is robust and clear to support data work items.">

Key Requirements:

  • ">
  • 7+ years' experience at senior level.">
  • Level 8 or higher NFQ qualification in Computer Science, Statistics, Informatics, Information Systems, or related field.">

Deliverables:

  • ">
  • Extract information via multiple complex SQL joins to various data stores and present insights via data visualisations.">
  • Assist in the design of the Departments Data Model to enable ingestion, transformation, cleansing, and consolidation of data in a standardised format.">
  • Acquire data from primary or secondary data sources and maintain databases/data systems.">
  • Lead and review on the validation of proposed production data migration systems.">
  • Enhance data quality and data integrity across all datasets by identification of data anomalies.">
  • Ensure the Central Data Reporting platform operates at maximum performance efficiency.">
  • Follow defined IT Data Office Team processes and visualisation standards.">
  • Report weekly updates to the Senior Data Analytics Manager.">
  • Adhere to department ICT security policies and procedures regarding network and security access as well as data protection compliance.">
