A toolmaker is required for our client in Galway.

The role reports to the automation department and involves producing high-quality tooling and daily machine maintenance.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Interpret and verify solidworks drawings, sketches, or specifications to fabricate machined parts or assemblies.
  • Work with customers within the automation department and production to optimize design and manufacture of parts or modifications to existing parts.
  • Verify dimensions, alignments, and clearances of finished parts for conformance to specifications and quality requirements.
  • Operate CNC milling machines, EDM wiring erosion machines, surface grinders, lathes, and other conventional tools.
  • Prepare parts for anodizing.
  • Assist the designer in assembling machine parts to verify fit and function.
  • Maintain machinery within the toolroom on a daily basis.
Requirements:
  • Level 6 advanced certificate in craft & toolmaking.
  • At least 3-5 years' experience as a toolmaker.
  • Proficiency in 3D CAM software (Auto Desk Fusion) and CNC machinery.
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings.
  • Desirable: Experience in medical device manufacturing environments.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Good PC skills and understanding of GMP practices.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
