
Strategic Mental Health Services Director

This is a strategic leadership position within our organisation, overseeing adult, child and young people’s mental health services.
The ideal candidate will be a Doctoral-level Clinical or Counselling Psychologist with substantial clinical and leadership experience in these areas.
Clinical Leadership & Governance- Provide visionary leadership across psychology services ensuring the highest professional standards are maintained.
- Lead on developing, implementing and monitoring clinical governance frameworks to safeguard practices and quality standards.
- Oversee service evaluation and outcomes embedding best practice and continuous improvement across teams.
- Act as a clinical supervisor for psychologists trainees and clinicians ensuring robust support and professional development.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to psychology teams fostering a culture of excellence collaboration and reflective practice.
- Contribute to workforce planning recruitment and retention strategies for psychological services.
- Lead mental health services aligned with HSE and NHS standards ensuring they are safe effective and client-centred.
- Champion evidence-based interventions and innovative models of care enhancing client outcomes.
- Ensure seamless service delivery meeting contractual organisational objectives.
- Act as key customer-facing leader presenting webinars events and clinical updates to stakeholders.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with customers commissioners and partners ensuring services meet expectations.
- Provide clinical expertise in business development service design and partnership working.
- Doctoral qualification in Clinical or Counselling Psychology.
- Accredited chartered by relevant bodies and registered with BPS or HCPC.
- Substantial post-qualification experience including Senior Psychologist level or equivalent.
- Demonstrated leadership in adult children or young people's mental health services.
- Proven track record of delivering high-quality clinical governance risk management and safeguarding.
- Experience of supervising clinical and counselling psychologists.
- Evidence of service leadership with focus on evaluation outcomes and continuous improvement.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills with experience of delivering webinars events and stakeholder engagement.
- Strong interpersonal and relationship management skills.
- Full-time permanent contract at 20 hours per week.
