Electrical Projects Leader

We are seeking an Electrical Construction Manager to lead our high-performing project teams.

• Deliver engineering projects with a focus on safety, quality, and timely completion.

About the Role

• Represent the Project Manager on major construction sites.
• Take responsibility for all site-related activities associated with the construction of a varied range of projects.

• Project Start-Up:
  • Develop a construction programme, short-term look-ahead planning reports, equipment and materials schedules.
  • Visit site and develop a site establishment schedule.
  • Familiarise with change management with PM.
  • Assist in project validation.
  • Implement site safety starter pack and participate in HSEQ plan.
  • Set up site establishment.
  • Prepare method statement and risk assessment with sub-contractor.
  • Review construction drawings and sign off.
  • Benchmark installation practices and quality procedures.
• Project Running Phase:
  • Productivity
  • Develop daily key action plan focusing on HSEQ, productivity, and people management.
  • Expedite major equipment deliveries.
  • Maintain a site diary.
  • Attend internal meetings with sub-contractors.
  • Ensure variations are captured in conjunction with PM and QS.
  • Labor allocation sheets completed by sub-contractors.
  • Produce short-term programmes aligned with master programme.
  • Mark up master programme each week and issue to PM.
  • Effectively manage sub-contractor supervision for efficient productivity.
  • Ensure sub-contractor workforce is present at workface on time.
• People:
  • Liaise with sub-contractors to address available work faces.
  • Collaborate with clients on co-ordination between building and services.
  • Work closely with supervisors to ensure effective coordination between M&E services.
  • Integrate with other supervisors for cross-co-ordination of trades and installation processes.
  • Take ownership and drive solutions in conjunction with Project Manager.
• Safety:
  • Ensure tool box talks, inductions, and safety briefings are conducted.
  • Maintain plant logs and perform weekly safety checks.
  • Verify operatives are working safely with PPE and adhering to method statements.
  • Comply with Health and Safety Policy, particularly operation of work permits, site safety audits, and weekly walk arounds.
  • Daily walk around adopting a 'don't walk by' approach to safety.
  • Implement H&S behaviour/culture and Golden Rules.
• Quality:
  • Coordinate delivery of materials and plant.
  • Mark up drawings in conjunction with inspection testing.
  • Enforce inspection test plan through snagging works and offer to client for inspection at various stages of installation aiming for ZERO snags.
  • Verify free-issue equipment is checked, cared for, and confirmed to engineer for payment sign off.
• Close Out Activities:
  • Liaise with commissioning engineer to ensure all systems are tested, demonstrated, and handed over.
  • Verify all site safety devices are proved.
  • Confirm all life systems are complete and certified.
  • Issue final marked-up drawings are correct.
  • Liaise with PM on site demobilisation, including plant, labour, materials, and site establishment.
  • Ensure all statutory notices, schematics, wall charts are in place on site according to project completion checklist.
• Other Duties:
  • Maintain a site diary.
  • Support QS in duties.
  • Ensure company image is maintained at all times.
  • Integrate with site team.
  • Enforce agreed training plan.
  Necessary Requirements
  • Recognised electrical apprenticeship/trade certification combined with minimum 5 years Site Management experience.
  • Experience in managing Electrical design and build projects exceeding €5 million.
  • Ideally possess IOSH certificate managing safety, IOSH certificate in environmental management, and general NEBOSH certificate but not essential.
  • Strong computer abilities.
  • Professional Acumen – Represent senior level in meetings, presentations, technical workshops etc. in professional, competent, capable manner.
  • Communications – Strong communicator with excellent verbal and writing proficiency. Ability to lead presentations to larger audiences.
  • Planning and Organising – Organised and adaptable individual with flexible approach to work. Ability to manage and prioritise when leading multiple projects.
  • Deep understanding of constructability of projects.
  • Strong Commercial awareness.
  • Capable of building strategic relationships with third-party design groups.
  • Ability to work on own initiative and build and manage a team.
