Job Title: Pre-Construction Planner

This role is ideal for a highly skilled Pre-Construction Planner with expertise in developing detailed programmes for tenders. The successful candidate will have excellent analytical and communication skills, with the ability to work closely with design, commercial, and delivery teams.

About the Role:

The primary responsibility of this role is to develop realistic and achievable project plans that align with company objectives. This involves generating programmes for tender submissions using MS Project & Primavera Software or Asta Powerproject.

The successful candidate will also be responsible for breaking down project scope into logical work sequences, identifying key milestones and critical path, and liaising with design teams, consultants, and internal stakeholders to develop coordinated programmes.

In addition, the candidate will need to identify and communicate potential risks, constraints, and opportunities, conduct critical path analysis and scenario modelling to support decision making, and ensure planning outputs comply with company standards and client requirements.

Maintaining accurate programme records in line with QA procedures and developing programme narratives are also key aspects of this role.

The ideal candidate will have relevant degree or diploma in engineering or equivalent, proven experience in a planning role in the building construction industry, and strong understanding of construction methodologies, sequencing, and lead times.

Able to produce clear and concise planning narratives and reports, with excellent analytical skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

Personal attributes such as being detail-oriented, proactive, and solution-focused, with a collaborative mindset and strong team ethic are essential for success in this role.

Requirements:

  • Relevant degree or diploma in engineering or equivalent
  • Proven experience in a planning role in the building construction industry
  • Strong understanding of construction methodologies, sequencing, and lead times
  • Able to produce clear and concise planning narratives and reports
  • Excellent analytical skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office suite
