Electrical Wearable Device Specialist

Job Description

This role involves contributing to the development and testing of a smart wearable device designed to monitor ostomy pouch systems. The successful candidate will collaborate with clinical and commercial partners throughout the design process, engaging in public-patient interactions and ensuring effective communication.

The Electrical Wearable Device Specialist will be responsible for designing, developing, and evaluating prototype devices for patient trials. This requires strong technical skills, including experience in circuit design, testing, and microcontrollers, as well as proficiency in designing devices with wireless communication capability.

A key aspect of this role is collaboration with clinical and commercial partners, facilitating effective partnerships and driving project success. Regular travel between Belfast, Coleraine, and Derry~Londonderry campuses, as well as site visits to collaborating partners, is also required.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or Mechatronic Engineering
  • Proven experience in circuit design, testing, and microcontrollers
  • Proficiency in designing devices with wireless communication capability
  • Publication history in medical/materials/engineering conferences or journals, commensurate with career stage
