Cost Accountant Job Overview

The Cost Accountant / Management Accountant role is a crucial position within our organization, responsible for driving continuous improvement and cost-saving initiatives. As a key partner to stakeholders, this individual will be responsible for all costings, product analysis, and gross margin analysis.

  • Business partnering: This includes working closely with the managing director, finance director, and commercial director to drive decision-making through robust financial analysis.
  • Operational performance reporting: The successful candidate will communicate performance across all tiers, update and present non-financial KPIs, and drive improvements in factory operations.
  • Labour analysis: They will also develop and implement a detailed line and product efficiency model, review systems and reports, and manage product costings and gross margin analysis.

This role requires a qualified accountant with experience in financial planning and accounting, manufacturing cost accounting, or management accounting. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated ability in system assessment and implementation, proficiency in lean manufacturing principles, and strong financial analysis skills.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience as a qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA).
  • Advanced excel skills, data analysis tools, and high attention to detail.

What We Offer

This is a fully in-office based role, but may be open to a 4-day work week or 1 day hybrid. The role involves a split of time between desk work and floor work, capturing data, liaising with production team, and correctly identifying and reporting on cost centres.
