Job Title: Senior Financial Operations Specialist

Job Description

This is a critical role in the Global Middle Office (GMO) that provides trade support to Fidelity's domestic and international equity, fixed income, high yield and foreign exchange trading desks. The successful candidate will work closely with traders, broker-dealer community and custodian bank network to facilitate trade matching and settlement in over 70 countries worldwide.

The Purpose of Your Role

You will be responsible for ensuring all trade confirmation and settlement processes are completed timely and accurately. This includes monitoring transactional confirmations, fails resolution, escrow activity and settlement. You will also communicate issues proactively and take initiative to resolve and prevent problems.

The Skills You Bring
  • Experience with industry practices and tools.
  • Detailed knowledge of market settlement practices.
  • Operational knowledge in FX and Fixed Income settlements.
  • Proficient skills in various software applications including Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook.

You will also ensure that all responsibilities/assignments are performed in a timely fashion and deliver effective written and verbal communication to appropriate business partners.

How Your Work Impacts the Organization

The GMO acts as a servicing centre for facilitating the confirmation and settlement of security and currency transactions with brokers and custodian banks. It also coordinates corporate action executions, ensures the collection of income to the Funds and resolves position differences.
