Key Responsibilities

The Person in Charge will oversee all aspects of the Designated Centre, focusing on resident care and staff management.

  • Implement and enforce regulatory compliance with The Health Act (2007) and associated Regulations.
  • Manage resources efficiently, allocating them according to needs.
  • Establish and maintain robust management systems ensuring service safety, quality, and effectiveness.
  • Evaluate and implement Stewart Care policies and procedures within designated areas of responsibility.
  • Educate staff and students on S.I.367 standards and regulations, promoting a culture of compliance.
Essential Requirements
  • NMBI registration or a Social Care (Honours) Degree is compulsory.
  • Candidates must fulfill the Health Act (2007) Regulations (2013) criteria for Person in Charge roles.
  • A strong working knowledge of HIQA Standards, Health Act (2007), and associated Regulations and Guidance, as well as national policies in the disability sector, is crucial.
  • Prior experience in the disability sector would be advantageous.
  • A management qualification would be beneficial.
  • Experience managing a service, staff, or home would be advantageous.
  • Excellent computer literacy and IT skills are required.
  • Superior report writing abilities are necessary.
  • An up-to-date, valid Irish Driving Licence is mandatory.
