Health and Safety Specialist

This is a challenging role that involves supporting the delivery of projects across various aspects of the business from a health and safety perspective.

We are looking for a qualified Health and Safety Specialist who has strong knowledge and experience in conducting site surveys, providing health and safety training, and conducting safety inspections and audits.

The Role:
  • To conduct site surveys and ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and guidelines.
  • To provide health and safety training to employees and contractors on various topics such as manual handling, toolbox talks, and safety induction.
  • To conduct regular safety inspections and audits to identify potential hazards and take corrective action.
  • To assist in the preparation of reports on occurrences and provide statistical information to management.
  • To implement and maintain the company's health, safety, and environmental policy, procedures, and management systems.
  • To assist in the maintenance of Health & Safety KPIs to drive improvement in related matters.
  • To work closely with management to develop H&S procedures, policies, and programs.
  • To ensure clear lines of communication are maintained with the H&S Manager and other stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct site surveys and identify potential hazards.
  • Provide health and safety training to employees and contractors.
  • Conduct regular safety inspections and audits.
  • Assist in the preparation of reports on occurrences.
  • Implement and maintain health, safety, and environmental policy.
  • Maintain Health & Safety KPIs.
  • Work closely with management to develop H&S procedures.
  • Ensure clear lines of communication.
Requirements:
  • Civils, drainage, or utilities (water & electricity) experience.
  • A 3rd level qualification in Health and Safety.
  • Full clean driver's license essential.
  • Confident, motivated, and able to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to work under pressure with strict deadlines.
  • Good communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills.
  • Integrity and respect for confidentiality and privacy.
