The role of Senior Station Technician is a vital position within our team, responsible for ensuring the upkeep and maintenance of marine diesel engines. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced engineer to join our crew and contribute to saving lives at sea.

  2. Develop and implement a planned preventative maintenance schedule to ensure the boat remains in optimal condition.">
  3. Conduct thorough diagnostics and fault-finding exercises to identify and resolve defects.">
  4. Collaborate with the Area Technical Manager, Senior Regional Technician, and Regional Technical Cell to streamline operations and resolve issues efficiently.">
  5. Inspire and motivate volunteer technical crew members through shore-based training, identifying areas for improvement, and sharing valuable knowledge.">
  6. Take a lead on Quality, Safety, Health, and Environmental initiatives, promoting a positive culture within the station.">
  7. Assist with the day-to-day running of the station, including answering emails, maintaining records, and working with the Operations Team.">

To be considered for this role, you will need:

  • Extensive experience in the operation, maintenance, and repair of marine diesel engines, with a strong engineering background and mindset.">

  • Potential to be trained as an Afloat Mechanic.">
  • Experience in fulfilling a boat mechanic role or equivalent experience in other relevant disciplines, with the capacity and willingness to develop skills in other areas of seagoing duties.">
