Job Description:

To support a multidisciplinary team in bed management, you will schedule daily admissions and coordinate the discharge process according to quality care standards.

Bed Management Responsibilities:

  • Develop rapport with critical stakeholders
  • Ensure adherence to referral, admissions, and discharge processes at all times
  • Conduct thorough clinical assessments of patient referrals on site or via telephonic assessment as appropriate
  • Allocate patients to the most appropriate ward/bed available to ensure safe nursing care
  • Monitor bed occupancy and send daily reports to senior management

General Responsibilities:

  • Provide high-quality care to residents/patients consistent with the organization's mission, vision, values, and strategic plan
  • Recognize the resident/patient as an individual and prioritize their rights, needs, and comfort during care provision
  • Develop relationships with residents/patients to facilitate autonomy, informed choice, and evidence-based decision-making
  • Promote and maintain resident/patients' safety while respecting their privacy, dignity, and rights
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Registered General Nurse or Psychiatric Nurse registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland
  • Evidence of continuous professional development
  • Post Graduate Diploma in Gerontology (desirable)
  • Management qualifications (desirable)
  • Gerontology experience (desirable)
