Haematologist Specialist Vacancy

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Haematologist to join our team at the Rotunda Hospital and Mater Misericordiae University Hospital.

This is a 1-year full-time position requiring a split of 20 hours per week at the Rotunda Hospital and 17 hours per week at the Mater Hospital.

The successful candidate will provide specialist care in venous thromboembolism (VTE), plasma cell disorders, inherited and acquired bleeding and thrombotic disorders, haemoglobinopathy, unexplained anaemia/severe iron-deficiency anaemia, and thrombocytopoenia.

The ideal candidate will have experience in VTE/inherited bleeding and thrombotic disorders and/or plasma cell disorders and be able to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.

Key responsibilities include providing clinical and laboratory haematology services, including advisory services to the haematology and blood transfusion laboratory via a 24/7 on-call rota across both hospitals.

The successful candidate will also participate in education and teaching, research, and audit, and collaborate with other departments to ensure high-quality patient care.

To be eligible for this position, candidates must hold Full registration in the General Register of Medical Practitioners maintained by the Medical Council in Ireland or entitlement to be registered, FRCPath or equivalent, and inclusion on or eligibility to be included on the relevant Register of Specialists maintained by the Medical Council in Ireland.
