Job Description:

This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic nursing team as a Staff Nurse (Telephone Triage) in the Midoc GP Out of Hours Service. The service provides urgent medical care to patients whose medical needs cannot wait until their GP's surgery re-opens.

The Staff Nurse will be part of a nursing team based in the Triage Centre, Tullamore, and will provide a telephone triage service as appropriate within protocols and guidelines. They will have excellent communication skills, including a sufficient command of the English language.

The ideal candidate will also have effective analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, and experience working in at least one of the following areas: Accident & Emergency Dept., Paediatrics, Practice Nursing, Midwifery or Telephone Triaging.

The successful candidate will work flexibly as part of a telephone triage nurse rota during the operational hours of the service, which are Monday to Friday 18:00 – 08:00 and 24 hours Saturday, Sunday and Bank Holidays.

Induction training and mentorship will be provided to support the Staff Nurse in their role. This is a great opportunity for a motivated and flexible individual to join a supportive team and contribute to the delivery of high-quality patient care.
