Job Title: Senior Finance and GL Manager

About the Role:

This is an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Senior Finance and General Ledger Manager. As a key member of our finance department, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day accounting and financial operational functions of the business.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Financial Operations:
  • Manage accounting, monthly reporting and daily and monthly reconciliations, treasury, AP (minimal) / SPV non lending payments and general ledger processes
  • Manage & deliver monthly management accounts for 2+ entities on wd+1, including analysis and reconcilations
  • Cashflow forecasting and liquidity management
  • Manage monthly payroll for c. 15
  • VAT and PAYE returns, other statutory company returns including CRO returns
  • Manage local Portuguese outsourced accountant which includes local payroll (c. 5 employees) and related expenditure
  • Own relationships with key internal and external stakeholders including banks and external auditors
  • Assist FD in implementing scalable and automated financial processes
  • Build strong internal control environment which protects the business from risk
Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need to have:

  • A qualified accountancy qualification up to c. 2 years post-qualified experience
  • Detailed understanding of month end reporting requirements and financial statements
  • Willingness to learn new skills and take on additional responsibilities
  • Solutions orientated with strong problem-solving skills
  • Confident self-starter with strong interpersonal and organisation skills
  • Ability to work in fast-paced international environment
  • Strategic thinking, able to see things through a commercial and operational lens
  • High proficiency in Microsoft office including Excel
  • Customer focused in terms of outcomes
