As a key member of our culinary team, the Junior Sous Chef plays a crucial role in ensuring that all kitchen operations are carried out efficiently and effectively. This individual will be responsible for assisting the Head Chef in maintaining high standards of food quality, safety, and presentation.
The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in a similar role and possess excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills. A strong knowledge of food preparation, cooking methods, and health and safety regulations is also essential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain good employee relations and foster a positive work environment.
- Ensure proper portion control, taste, and quality as per standard recipes.
- Coordinate and execute training sessions for Commi Chefs and Apprentices.
- Assist in menu planning, recipe development, and testing samples.
- Inspect daily fresh food received to ensure quality and report any issues to the Head Chef.
- Monitor and maintain a safe, hygienic, and healthy working environment.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Chef de Partie or equivalent role.
- Strong knowledge of food preparation, cooking methods, and health and safety regulations.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to motivate staff and promote a positive work environment.
