Claims Manager Job Description

The Role of a Claims Manager is multifaceted and requires exceptional leadership skills. This position involves directing a large team, managing key broker and corporate accounts, and ensuring smooth client-focused claims operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Direct and support a team of approximately 20 claims professionals across Dublin and an outsourced service provider.
  • Act as the main contact for priority brokers and large commercial clients, resolving issues quickly and maintaining strong service levels.
  • Build long-term relationships through ongoing communication and client visits.
  • Track performance standards and reporting outputs to maintain accuracy and consistency.
  • Drive innovation and efficiency, particularly around digital tools and simplified claims handling.
  • Contribute to wider divisional planning with senior management, ensuring competitive positioning in the market.
  • Create an open and collaborative culture within the team, encouraging feedback and accountability.
  • Lead projects aimed at reducing administration and improving the overall broker and client journey.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Solid management background in claims or commercial insurance.
  • Proven record of handling broker or corporate client relationships.
  • Experience developing and motivating large teams (15+ people).
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills.
  • CIP, Dip CII, or equivalent qualification is advantageous.
  • Motor or commercial claims experience preferred, though senior candidates from a broking background with leadership experience will also be considered.
