Artificial Intelligence Researcher Opportunity

The Faculty of Engineering is seeking a researcher to advance their expertise in Cognitive Robotics and Knowledge Representation and Reasoning/Neuro-Symbolic Artificial Intelligence.

In this role, you will conduct independent and collaborative research activities to contribute to the development of innovative AI solutions. You will have the opportunity to advance your scholarly research and professional activities both nationally and internationally.

This position offers a chance to work with industry partners, participate in conferences and workshops, and write scientific papers and reports for international journals.

  • Full-time contract – 3 years
  • Location: Sydney, Australia

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • PhD (or soon to be awarded) in knowledge representation and reasoning (artificial intelligence), neuro-symbolic AI or related area
  • Proven commitment to keeping up-to-date with discipline knowledge and developments
  • Demonstrated ability to undertake high-quality academic research and conduct independent research with limited supervision
  • Demonstrated track record of publications and conference presentations relative to opportunity
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a team, collaborate across disciplines and build effective relationships
  • Evidence of highly developed interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate with a diverse range of stakeholders and students
