The Role Overview

This position involves driving advanced research in AI, exploring areas such as machine learning, data-driven modelling, and large-scale systems. While recommender systems may form part of your focus, the role is positioned more broadly across applied AI, ensuring flexibility and scope to influence multiple directions of innovation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and lead cutting-edge research projects in AI and machine learning.
  • Design and implement algorithms and models that address complex real-world challenges.
  • Oversee large-scale data usage, from acquisition to application, ensuring optimal performance and results.
  • Publish research findings in top-tier journals and conferences, contributing to the organisation's IP portfolio.
  • Mentor and support junior researchers, driving technical excellence and innovation.
  • Deliver prototypes, proofs-of-concept, and applied solutions that demonstrate significant impact.
  • Collaborate with global research institutions and industry stakeholders to advance knowledge and drive innovation.
Requirements
  • Extensive expertise in machine learning and applied AI, with experience in areas such as recommender systems, optimisation, or large-scale modelling.
  • Strong programming capability, with proficiency in languages such as Python, R, C, or C++.
  • PhD in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related discipline.
  • Track record of publishing in leading journals and conferences, with evidence of significant impact.
  • Proven ability to lead projects from concept through to real-world delivery, with excellent project management skills.
  • Excellent collaboration and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to communicate complex ideas effectively.
